A party of eight are dining together in an elegant restaurant. The food arrives staggered and some of the people begin eating when food is placed before them. Is it okay?
Always wait to begin eating until everyone has been served. One or more person’s food, for whatever reasons, may take longer. Even though that person asks that “everyone go ahead and eat, don’t let your food get cold …” you should still wait.
